Mackay Rodeo!

It has been a while since I have been to the Mackay Rodeo! I love a good rodeo! I could only go up for Saturday so I invited Ryan, Kyla, and Alex (although he just rode with us Kenna invited him)! We made it in just enough time for the Parade!
The crew waiting for Parade to start!

After an awesome parade (you really haven't seen one till you see a small town Parade) we went back to the Cabin to eat an light lunch! We took the little kids the rock island! There  we found out that Ryan was a world class rock skipper! Kyla wasn't bad either! I maxed out at 4 and I was super excited!
Excited to for the Rodeo to start! This was Ryan's first rodeo he wasn't sure about it! I had a blast though!
The Judge! Best job ever!
The Bare Back Rider!
Team Roping! I was super stoked because these two were my students! Jake Partner and Colter Lake!
Saddle Broncs
The Awesomeness Second Mom a girl could ask for! So greatfull for her!

Every time I go to Mackay I feel like I need to jump in the river for Kyle! It is freezing! I am start screaming before  I got into the water! I now that the water is super cold! I mean really really cold! Freezing! But I did it for Kyle!

So did Kyla
And Kenna!

Father's Day

I have the coolest Father in the whole word! He is an amazing man that has taught me a ton of things! He is the most humble person that I know! He has a strong testimony of the gospel and is the hardest worker that I know!
I think that he is the most amazing person that I know!
I made him this card for him for Fathers Day!
Then he danced for us!

Clean Room! What???

I have never been one of those people who have had a clean room! I have way to many clothes and sometimes during the school year my life is super hectic!
I found this picture from a long time ago but this generally what my bed looks like! Yes I can still sleep on it every like this!
But to follow my number one goal for the summer I cleaned my room and have kept it clean for a whole week! I also took 3 bags of clothes to DI! (Ok really Kenna took the bags to DI)

What Defines You?

I feel like I have been going through a mid life crisis at the age of 27! If you would have asked me a  month ago what defines me I would have said many things such a,s my testimony, family, friends, and my job!  The importance of the last one has really struck me. I have worked four years as a history teacher at Highland High School! When people ask me what I do I say that I teach! I tell them that I love it and wouldn't do anything else! Because when you have a job that you are good at and love why would you do anything else?  .... Well that is where my story begins!
When I was hired at Highland the principal/other teachers said that I was hired to take the place of the librarian that was soon to be retiring! I laughed because I was a history teacher and it seemed like the librarian would never retire! Then we got a new principle so I totally thought I was of the hook! Then at the beginning of the year I found out that she was retiring and I thought oh gravy what am I going to do! So through out the year I would randomly think should I try and be the librarian at Highland... hmmm I didn't know! I had a every rough 2nd tri! I was teaching 4 different classes 2 that I had never taught before and 2 that I had taught for the first time the tri before! If you would have asked me in March if I wanted the library job I would have said Heck Yes! But this last tri was a lot of fun I loved my students! They were crazy but I loved them!  My babies started to graduate! Students that I had started teaching with! They crazy student that chased me around the classroom as a freshman trying to give me a hug (Don't worry I gained more control over the classroom after that) is now going to basic training this month!  I was so proud of them and what they might become. Around the beginning of May the district cut the positions of all of the librarians! I was ever so grateful I didn't have to make the decision. The about two weeks before the end of school year the board reinstated them!  Blast crisis was to adverted! So I went in a told my principal that I was interested in applying for the job! What was the harm in applying! Well.... On Friday before memorial day the principal and vice-principal pulled me into their office and offered me the job! What!!!! I was suppose to interview with a bunch of old ladies and they were going to clearly see that I was not a good choice for the job! Are you serious? Have you heard how loud I am?  But there was no convincing them other wise! They said that there was no one better for the job! No one who bring the change that needed to be there better then me!  I started to get a lot of anxiety! Ahhhh! I told them I needed the weekend to talk it over with ... well just myself cause no one could make the decision but me! (yes that is a quote I didn't want to let my principal know that I couldn't make decisions without talking it over with my parents like I was a child!)  Now I was full of fear all weekend! Why because I knew that I was probably going to except the job! I am not sure why but I was going to take it!  After multiple pros and cons list- taking with friends- praying- and a blessing I decide I was going to take the job! I felt good but I was also scared!! I am not good at doing new things! Every things was fine until I cleaned out my classroom! I cried and cried! I made Ryan come and help me take down the decorations and then my Dad come take stuff out for me!  I was so sad! I started to get anxiety about my new job! Why would you switch from something that you love to something you can be successful at but might not work! I have finally have control of what I feel! I know that this is a new challenge but this is my year of challenges ! I am going to look at this position as a chance to make a difference! It will be difference from what I was doing as a teacher but I can still impact students lives! I can still get them to do things that will make them better people! I am excited for the opportunity! I am going to grow! I am become a better person! I am very grateful for the chance!
I am really going to miss this room!
But this classroom does not define me! It is a part of me and my past but there is so much more to me then the walls of a classroom! I will still be able to teach! I will just be borrowing people's classrooms!

Crazy Fun Week Review

So the last day of School was on Friday! I still have to go to  work tomorrow but I am so excited to not have students (even though I kind of miss them already but that is another blog post all together!) I was even more excited for the weekend that the awesomeness that it intelled! I love love my Family! I really think they are the funniest people in the world! (How could a girl get so lucky!) So I was just a part of the family this weekend! On Friday we went to my Aunt Mellonee's (which is also my Uncle Daren's but I have never called it that)! But the excitement really started on Saturday!
See look how happy I am!
Anyone how knows me knows there is a large part of my that missed its calling in the 1960s! It is that part of me that loves protesting! I am love Protesting! Why many of you many of you may be wondering! Well let me tell you! I love that it is part of the our government! I know History I know that the United States is not perfect! I also know that built in to the government is ways for people to express their opinions even if they are not  popular! I love this! I  also love the hope that protesters have! They think that their actions can change the world! That even if one person listen to their protest then at least they made that difference! I like to see the government working in a peaceful way! I really just like it! Another plus is protesters are the best people watching you will ever do!
So why was I protesting on the Saturday of a holiday weekend! We were protesting for truth in labeling  on food packages! We were protesting against GMOs and Monsanto the best company that produces GMOs! To be honest I don't know a ton about this cause but I know enough that it is a good cause! Monsanto is the same company that produced Agent Orange for the Vietnam War! I know enough about that to be leery of their history! GMOs are genetically modified organisms, the best example is corn! They made it so that they corn has a pesticide in the corn so that when the bugs eat it they die (it splits the bugs guts open) but the pesticide is still in the corn when we eat it (see Mellonee I do listen to you)!  This may be the cause of many things an example is stomach problems in humans. If you want to know more I will direct you to Mellonee and Tara they know the most!
This is the MC she had a potty mouth but she believed in her cause!
Tara Mellonee and I super excited to be protesting!
Some of the Protesters at the side of us!
The signs were funny! Here are a few of the favorites that I can remember:
No more GMOs says this Homo
Genetically modify this you dirty carpetbagger!
The evil empire (with a picture of Darth Vader)
Grow food not laws
The most moving were the signs the children had:
A little girl dressed up as a princess that said "Don't give me poisoned apples"
A little girl wearing a sign that said "I am not an experiment"

A picture of about half the protesters with the capital behind them!
Finally the March! It was a lot of fun! We joined in some of the chants, not all but a few! We walked down to third street and then took Trax to Sandy where Tara left her car!
The protesters on their ride home!
A little collage! It was super fun!

What is this a picture of? It is one of the funnest nights I have ever had with these people! Why are we all on our phones/computers? Because we are attacking my Dad's/Brad's/Lexis' facebook walls! Fell free to look at them if you want a good laugh! They might not make sense but to us the do!
Today was a beautiful day! This is a picture of my Uncle Daren! I really like him, as a matter of fact he is probably my favorite uncle! What is he doing! Just sitting there looking at the mountains all by himself!
I am truly greatfull for all of the people that made this weekend rock! Love you all!

Grandma Great

So I have one of the most amazing Great Grandmas ever! She is a great example! Here are some of my most favorite stories! She made my great grandpa wait for her while she went on a mission! She always   bears her testimony every chance she gets! I love that when I was younger she never knew my name but in her hugs I knew that she loved me! She has also been on a mission since 1994! She learned how to run a computer and copy machine! She is super cute! She turned 98 on Friday so yesterday we had a party for her on Friday!
I just really just love this picture!
I love Mellonee's face because it shows her joy of being there! We are sat there just soaking it up a little bit of Indian Creek!
Bryson loved Ruby!
The mom's with Grandma!
Kenna!
Grandma and her future Missionaries
Grandma and the Girls (they could be missionaries too)
These two girls are only a few years apart! Future Indian Creek Cousins!
I just love her!
Best Ruby has every been with Grandma Evelyn!
We all take turns taking Grandma where ever she would like to go!
