June 23, 2014 I Got Engaged!

I am not sure exactly how to start this out! I knew I was getting engaged but I didn't know when! (Side note: I know there are people who are going to judge the quickness of our courtship and I have two things to say: 1st Dave and I aren't babies we have had time to figure out what kind of people we wanted to marry and 2nd when it is right it is right, why wait because society finds it weird. Dave and I aren't social conformers!) June 23rd was a Monday and I hadn't been feeling very well (later that week my mom made Dave take me to the Doctor and I had a sinus infection)! Dave said that he needed to go talk to Drew about the ring (I figured he was making a payment) so I took a nap on the couch! When Dave came in he woke me up. He sat on the couch with me for a bit while I tried to go back to sleep! I couldn't and he looked at me and said "How tired are you?" I thought super tired I don't feel good! But then I said "Why" He said "Because I want you to show me your house!" I said "No you have seen my House" He said "Not all of it! I haven't seen the rooms" Me: "I am not showing you my room it is dirty!" Dave: Come on! I want to see them! I don't care if it is dirty! Me: No! Dave: Please! Me: Fine (I was super ticked that is not what I wanted to do) So I showed Dave the rooms upstairs and when we got to my room I turned to him and said "Don't judge me!" When he saw my room he said "It isn't to bad you can still see the floor" Me: In some places! Then I went to go back to the couch and he said no I want to see the downstairs! So I showed him the downstairs! At the top of the stairs Dave gave me the  biggest hug and said "I was going to do something big and romantic but then I thought I should do it here where we are going to spend the rest of our lives together!" Then He got down on one knee and said "Melissa Ann Wilding will you marry me"! I said "YES" and then gave him a big hug and then said "Put it on me!" Then we took these pictures to try and commemorate the moment! Please remember I wasn't feeling good cause they are not the best pictures!

Like Sister Like Sister

So if you know that Kenna and I, you know that we have very opposite love lives! She has always been super comfortable with boys and has been know to like kissing a lot! I can't say that same for myself! I got my first kiss at 23 and it didn't really go well! 

See everything changed when I met Dave! I really like kissing Dave! When I was first started talking about it with my mom I was a little shocked at my behavior and blurted out "Apparently I'm like Kenna ... Who Knew? Not me!" Kenna made us these shirts! I love them and am very greatful for such an amazing sister! 

Mackay Rodeo 2014

Kyle, Karlee, Ryan, and I loaded into my car on Friday afternoon so that we could get up there early!

I was super excited to get there and just hang out! 

Look at this awesome view! Who wouldn't want to just sit there and then take a small trip to the Rock Island to see Ryan's amazing rock skipping skills! We then spent the evening singing songs next to the campfire!

Kyle, Karlee, and I shared a tent! I had them take this awesome picture of my hot pajamas to send to Dave! In the middle of the night Ryan wasn't feeling very good so Julianne took time to the INEL rest stop to meet his parents! 

We are ready to for a Rodeo! 

Kenna and Alex surprised us and came up for the day! We were really excited they would join us for both the Parade and Rodeo!

It was super cold but Alex, Karlee, and I were super excited to get in the water! Even though there was still snow on the mountians! But when it started to rain it was to much so we got out!

I love her more then words can express! She is my rock! She has raised some amazing children and although my Dad had a part in it she deserves much of the credit! Love you Tammy Kay!

A picture is worth a 1000 words!

Sometimes you just need a weekend in St. George with your girlfriends! I loved loved Little Mermaid at the Tuacahn! It was amazing! The Wizard of Oz was also good! I love that first thing we did was sit down and take pictures!

Memorial Weekend/Meet the Family!

I met Dave's family over memorial weekend! Ahhhhhh! I was really nervous! I had never met anyone's family! What if they didn't like me! I know most of you are like who doesn't like Melissa but really it can happen and it would be my luck that it was Dave's family! I had already met his brother just under him and his sister in law! On our second date we played games with them! (That is the same date I rolled my anckel, yeah I am already showing how graceful I am) So we went to his brother's house in Arimo for a BBQ on Saturday! I was ever so greatful that his niece was there to read to me "Bad Kitty"! I felt better but was still so nervous! About half way through dinner I decided to calm down and it went quite smooth! His Family is great I really liked them! They made me feel very included! We played Imagine If and an intense game of Duck Duck Goose! It was great to see Dave with his family! He is much louder with them! I laughed a lot!

Then on Monday Dave and I went to the Bees game with Jayson and Tami! It was a lot of fun! 

Story Time!

So Dave and I have been dating a little over a month but I am ready to share some of my favorite stories/facts about our relationship! 

Back Ground: So Dave is a good friend of my cousin Timmy! So I actually remember him meeting him a few times! First at Lava, he was a life Guard there for like 11 years during the time that we went a lot! He "claims" he remembers me also cause we remembers the people that we used to go with! I kind of believe him about it because he gets so excited when I challenge him! The second place I remember him is at my cousin's wedding! He sat a crossed from me in the sealing room and I remember asking one of my other cousin's who he was! 

First Time actutally talking: Dave and I are in the same singles ward! We both remember really talking at a ward prayer sometime in January! I was dying because I stood in a circle talking to a huge group of boys who I didn't really know and I was so proud of myself! My faviorite part of this story is Dave felt that "I am going to ask this girl out. She is amazing" (a quote from his mouth!)  He was a tad shy and didn't ask me out until the middle of April! 

Many of the nosey people around us decided we should get together! The funny thing is that I knew about it but he had no clue! They would try to put us next to each other and make sure that we are at the same things! Example: Ryan's birthday Britt our friend looked at me and said Dave is here! I said yeah I invited him! Then Britt looked at Kenna and said can that stuff be moved! (I was sitting on my hope chest) Move the stuff move the stuff! That way Dave could sit by me!

Asking out: So at FHE after the passover dinner Dave was helping me clean up and Colton: Why don't you help Melissa take that stuff out to the car! Me: No I have got it! Colton: No Dave help her carry that stuff! Me: Apparently I need help with this!  Dave asked me out for that Saturday! Well then I got sick like super both ends sick! I couldn't go! I was so sad! I called him and told him that I really wanted him to like me but you won't like me if I go on this date!

The Actual Date: After I reminded Dave that we need to go on the date! We went on a date the next Saturday! We went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner and then to Outer Limits to the arcade! It was super fun! Some highlights- Dave was so nervous he drove passed the turn off and then drove passed the turn off to my house! He was super adorable! He also lost quite a few games! He did win at air hockey but only because I scored like 6 goals for him!

I wish every lady had a Dave. He is amazing. One of my favorite parts about him is when I tell people that I am dating him they say  I love Dave and then they say he is the nicest guy ever! It really is truth! I have never been treated so well! He is super funny, maybe even be a little bit goofy! I am super greatful for the experiences that I have been on  in order to be open to Dave! I am truly happy, and it is not just because of Dave although I do really really like him (actually love him), I just know I am were I should be, doing what I should do!
